DON'T GIVE IN WITHOUT A FIGHT

The police have only one job and that job is to incriminate you. Whether you are guilty or innocent, tell the police you want to speak to your lawyer first or you risk having your words thrown back in your face as evidence against you.

A CONVICTION CAN...

PUT YOUR CAREER IN DANGER

Many jobs will fire an employee for a criminal conviction because it simply doesn’t reflect well on them if they hire criminals. Likewise, a conviction will make finding a job in the future much more difficult because felons, even non-violent ones, are seen as risks.

CREATE A PERMANENT CRIMINAL RECORD

Your criminal record will follow you for the rest of your life. Hiring a lawyer who doesn’t care or doesn’t have the time means that you risk negatively affecting the rest of your life. Make sure you get the help but also make sure that help is qualified.

AFFECT YOUR SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS

In the United States, every citizen has the right to bear arms under the Second Amendment. However, getting convicted of a felony means that you forfeit that right. If owning a firearm is important to you, then there is no substitute for good legal help.

MY MISSION ADAPTS TO ACCOMPLISH YOUR UNIQUE PRIORITIES.

Depending on which route you want to take with your criminal charge, there are different paths available for different outcomes. What happens depends on your wants and needs and once I know them, I can get started.

Take college crimes for example. If Fort Collins put every underaged drinker in jail, there wouldn’t be any room for serious criminals. Instead, a citation and fine are issued and the student completes an educational program about alcohol. For many college crimes, there are better options than incarceration.

The same is true for felony charges. There are always alternatives to jail time.

Depending on the nature of the crime committed, an SIS could be implemented, in which the person goes on probation with the prosecuting attorney. Once the probation period is up, the charges are dropped.

For family law situations, there are many different paths. When facing a divorce, it could be uncontested and the divorce process simply requires signing paperwork.

However, if there are children, custody could be contested and will require many hours in court to decide who gets primary custody of the children and when the other party can see them.
